Yup, that's pretty much me these days. Thanks to PayPal being odd about remembering addresses, mine is actually traveling to an old address first, adding another level of twitch factor about when I'll actually receive it.

Just a question, if any one knows, do we have to wait 12 hours to charge the XO before we, I mean, our kids can play with it? Because THAT will make it unbearable.
My concern is the LCD screen... I think I should buy the screen protector before it comes. So I can apply it before I turn it on...

From what I've seen, the batteries are arriving fully charged. I don't know if that will be true across the board, but there's hope at least.

What about Canada? G1G1 hasn't posted shipping information for Canada yet! I only got a form-letter response for US ship dates.

The OLPC will run off the AC adapter, so you can learn the ropes while the battery is charging.
Another Canuck waiting for G1G1 news. I don't mind waiting, but I wish that they would improve their communications to us. If they ship to Canada January or February, fine. (Granted, I'm lucky and can beg and borrow time on developer models). I can bottle up the anticipation as long as it has a known best before date. But right now I'm concerned that they may have bumped into some sort of import/export controls.
All this activity reminds me of the early days of the Altair, when one buyer even camped out in the MITS parking lot waiting for them to build his machine.
A G1G1 has landed in Biloxi, Mississippi according to a user in IRC today.

I ordered the first day, and I live in San Jose, California. At 10 a.m. the Federal Express guy came and gave me my XO. Now to explore it for the weekend.
