The XO Dance from OLPC Madagasgar

   
   
   
   
   

On the island of Nosy Komba just northwest of Madagascar in the region of Nosy Bé, the 5,000 inhabitants of 6 main coastal villages are excited about One Laptop Per Child. The G du Coeur charity of students from the French business school "ESG" and OLPC France have joined forces to produce a pilot deployment to Antintorona of 160 XO laptops.

The children involved with the OLPC pilot are so happy for access to modern technology that they created their own XO dance:


I hope you were able to follow along with their hip swaying and fancy footwork. You'll need to if you hope to understand the joy OLPC brings to rural Madagascar.
