Calling all Pacific Northwest XO users and OLPC interested people! I'm headed your way and am organizing two meetups for mad mesh networking and One Laptop Per Child discussions.
First up is a combined conversation around technology and nonprofits with friends of mine from both fields:
Portland to Kathmandu: What's New in Technology for Nonprofits, Development, and ReliefThen I'll be traveling to Vancouver, British Columbia, to check in on the VBCXO User Group. Canadians are just now getting their hands on XO laptops after reminding OLPC that G1G1 Canadians Are Humans, With Kids Too, and the excitement to mesh is palatable.
Wayan Vota of OLPC News will be on hand with a new XO computer. Gregg Swanson of HumaniNet will talk to those interested about the Nepal simulation exercise in 2007, and Anna Richter of N-TEN will have a few words about the new Portland 501 Tech Club.

If you're in the greater Vancouver area, or even a SeaXO, then join us for the:
VBCXO User Group February MeetupAnd while I can't make it a XO meeting hat trick with a third mesh in a week, check out the SeaXO February meetup the following weekend in Seattle.
A fun discussion and discovery of One Laptop Per Child technology for the whole kids to geeks XO-loving family.
