Recuento Implementación Sugar-on-a-Stick en Chile

   
   
   
   
   

Provechosa en todo sentido ha sido la implementación de la plataforma de aprendizaje para niños Sugar de manera formal en un establecimeinto educacional de nuestro país. Dicha intervención, impulsada por Sugar Labs Chile, se realizó en un 3ro Básico, a cargo de la profesora Luz Blandón, trabajando en distintos sectores de aprendizaje curriculares. La intervención se realizó en dos fases.

Inducción y Primeros Pasos

En los meses de Julio y Agosto se llevó a cabo la primera fase piloto de implementación de Sugar dónde se realizaron los siguientes pasos:

  • Levantamiento de necesidades y requerimientos y selección de actividades.
  • Capacitación docente sobre el entorno y actividades de aprendizaje. Se trabajó en la exploración de las actividades según el levantamiento, reconocer su funcionamiento y potencial de aprendizaje. Luego se trabajó en el entorno Sugar y su funcionamiento, buscando formas de gestión de la tecnología en aula.
  • Inducción de los alumnos, previo a salida de vacaciones de invierno. Se inició la inducción trabajando con la actividad Memorice, para luego pasar a trabajar en el entorno Sugar y su funcionamiento (manejo de entornos Vecindario y Hogar, Regsitro o Bitácora, manejo de archivos y el portapapeles). Se trabajó el manejo de imagenes con la actividad Navegar para registrarla y utilizarla en la actividad Pintar.
  • Trabajo en aula, exploración y trabajo de actividades en Lenguaje y Comunicación y Matemáticas.


Integración Curricular

Durante Octubre y Noviembre se trabajó directamente en actividades que abordaron objetivos de aprendizaje según planes y programas en el área de Lenguaje y Comunicación y Matemáticas.

En el ámbito del Lenguaje se explotaron actividades que promovían la expresión oral y escrita trabajando pictogramas (elaboración de texto e imagen) con Pintar y TuxPaint (a partir de la versión 5), se trabajó creando comics (fotonovelas) con FotoToon. Se grabaron recitados de poesía y expresión oral tradicional (en el contexto de celebración bicentenaria) con Grabar y con Navegar pues a través del sitioweb de Dailymotion se pudo grabar video en vivo y subirlo inmediatamente al sitio (ver videos). Hubo una primera aproximación a eToys.

En el ámbito de las Matemáticas, se trabajó en actividades de ejercitación en operaciones con actividades GCompris. Luego se abordó el trabajo relacionado a contenidos de geometría (formas, lados, ángulos) con TortugArte. Se trabajó contenidos de estadísticas (gráficos y su interpretación) usando el juego FoodForce2 que trabaja intensivamente barras de progreso. Para lo anterior, se tradujo al español FoodForce2. Se trabajó con Finanzas para organizar un banco que tenía el curso, para luego organizar de forma personal el presupuesto familiar.

Junto al trabajo de aula, cuatro hitos marcaron esta etapa:

  1. Se postuló la experiencia que se realizaba a la convocatoria abierta de experiencias innovadoras para el Catalogo de Experiencias Pedagógicas con TIC para Enlaces, Ministerio de Educación, siendo aceptada satisfactoriamente. Ver siguiente video resumen de la experiencia:


  2. El trabajo en torno a la actividad Memorice permitió a los alumnos crear sus propios juegos de memoria visual y auditiva, algunos muy interesantes. Éstos juegos fueron presentados por sus autores a alumnos de 1ro Básico de su establecimiento. Es muy interesante la tremenda motiviación de los alumnos en asumir una tarea propia de un profesor, en sentir que algo creado por ello tiene valor y utilidad para sus pares, de compartir su conocimiento.

  3. Se nos invitó a la Feria Tecnológica del Colegio Alexander Flemming, donde participaron un total de 20 colegios. Un jurado experto evaluó y premió los distintos proyectos en dos categorías: Innovación y Replicabilidad. Nuestro proyecto resultó ganador en la mención Replicabilidad lo que le valió aparecer en algunos medios de prensa.

  4. Realización de Feria TecnoDivertida, exposición de los alumnos de productos y proyectos usando Sugar a la comunidad escolar del establecimiento. Parejas o tríos de alumnos desarrollaron "proyectos" usando y creando productos a través de las actividades trabajadas y otras nuevas como Física, TamTam y Scratch.

Estamos contentos de comunicar, a pesar de ser mucho lo que hay que mejorar, homogenizar y evaluar, que los resultados esperados planteados fueron alcanzados en alguna dimensión. A saber:

En el Docente:

  1. Nuevas prácticas pedagógicas en aula a partir de la inclusión de metodologías innovadoras en el nivel intervenido;
  2. Adquisición de Competencias TICs para docentes según estándares de desempeño definido por Enlaces y UNESCO;
  3. Modelo de integración curricular de TICs como estrategia de incorporación de TICs en los procesos de aprendizaje;
  4. Modelo de gestión de las tecnologías propuestas que permita uso eficiente y eficaz.

En Estudiantes:

  1. Adquirir habilidades TICs que permitan gestionar el entorno virtual de aprendizaje Sugar;
  2. Adquisición de habilidades de S. XXI por parte de los alumnos: Iniciativa, responsabilidad, autonomía, creatividad y trabajo en red;
  3. Mejora en aprendizajes esperados del nivel: motivación, resolución de problemas, socialización;
