So a logistics Q here:  Should this be the Canada XO User Group, or do you want more geographic specificity (per provence, per city, etc)

Right now it seems that a Vancouver and Toronto Group would be warranted but other than that, it seems like things are a bit more scattered.

Well when you have Vancouver & Toronto people figured out, feel free to upgrade into user groups.  You have that power Jerpenner.

Honestly, I think only a single group for all of Canada is probably warranted.  But do as you see fit, Jer!

Anybody else from Montreal ? I sure hope to try the mesh networking stuff (I mostly just want to try the XO itself which it seems won't be for another couple of month :-|)

Also 4000 from the Great White North doesn't seem to cut it for me - with all the Wii, Guitar Hero, and other stocking stuff and considering the number of people working in IT (who should be sensitive to this project), and people working in education (who should also be sensitive to this project), I'm going on a "Send a Christmas Greetings with OLPC info-links" e-mail spree to all I know - maybe a couple more XOs willfind their way into tiny far-away hands...

If I get feed back I'll post about it here

Merry Christmas - Joyeux Noël!

Another FDD here just north west of Toronto.

Now I have two reasons to be "in February" - Winter will be at it's peak so the downhill run to Spring starts (maybe) AND I may have my XO!

You folks need to add your locations to your profiles so you show up on the map!

Well...if we're going by the aaalmost the same as Toronto  I'm in Buffalo, NY spitting distance from the Peace Bridge.    and yes as of the new year getting over that darn bridge is gonna be harder but for an "Occasion" I would be willing to make the effort.

We'll have to find a mutually agreeable bar and hold a meet up.

Oui... de Montréal aussi..!!
I am also a volunteer for "Ile Sans Fil" non-profit organisation, a community network providing free wifi to more than 150 hotspots in Montréal....
Lots of hotspots for the XO community...maybe we can setup a special server ?
