Well since my earlier group turned into London, Canada I thought I might try again. Are there any other G1G1s out there in London, UK?

Or even any one else in the UK with an XO on its way? Feel free to post here and if there are enough maybe we can meet.

May I abuse your thread to explain, that in this thread (http://olpcnews.com/forum/index.php?topic=1364.msg9598#msg9598) British people count as European and are very welcome to leave a message.

Hi.  I'm in Manchester and got my laptop a couple of days ago, bought from the States via eBay.

It took me a day to figure out that it's actually a B4 machine and not a general release G1G1 machine.   Sad   (Didn't say either way on the eBay ad, so it's my own fault for not checking I suppose.)

Anyway, it's all updated now (firmware and build) and seems to be working well, fingers crossed.

I'm not in London but saw a post on another thread that may lead you to other XO members.  Look at post #7 on this thread.  May be worth contacting the Global Literacy folks.

Joe thanks for the heads-up. I hadn't read that post before so it is nice to know there will be a few other XOs in London along with mine! Will look into tracking them down to say hi.

Yup, I'm in London, UK - Walthamstow, to be precise. Just got my XO - sorry, *my daughter's* XO <cough> - last weekend. Brought over from the US by a friend.

Jim.

I would enjoy a session with other London XOers. Would be a good time to share tricks and info about new uses.
