Does OLPC Support i686?

Just wondering if the XO supports the i686 architecture. I'm thinking of installing an i686-optimized distro, like Yoper.

no.  the XO has an AMD Geode LX processor.

(which i believe means "pentium compatible", but not pentium-pro/III/4/M/celeron/D/Xeon compatible.)

Thanks. There doesn't seem to be much definitive info on this on the internet. Some say yes, some say no. This bug report seems to indicate distros like Arch can run on the LX800 (XO has the LX700, which appears to just be a reduction in clock speed).
