How about the "TCXO Users Group"  where "TC" stands for Twin Cities ?

The Minnesota Chapter of the Independent Computer Consultants Association has started a group to publicize the OLPC and explore developing and contributing software.  We'd be happy to coordinate with any other Twin Cities group.  We have a Google Group at groups.google.com/groups/icca-mn-olpc.

Who's interested in meeting in Jan??  The group referenced above by wmcteer (ICCA-MN) is meeting mid month but we don't want to swamp them with too many XO users.  You can private message me with your available dates and I'll tally up a headcount.  Theirs is a dinner meeting, so we'll have to pony up their guest member fee for dinner ($30 or $35)... but it is at a great restaraunt!!!

If we can't link up with the ICCA folks, I figure we can pour into a Starbucks somewhere and saturate their HotSpot with our free access!!

I am on a team at the World Community Grid working on defeating various diseases.  If any MN users would like to join our team, you are more than welcome to do so.  All of the research done is released to anyone who asks, nobody is making a profit off of it.

We're looking at linking up with the Independent Computer Consultants Association of Minnesota (ICCA-MN) at their dinner meeting on January 17th.  Given their interest in the OLPC program, they have graciously extended an invitation to the newly forming Twin Cities XO (TCXO) club to use their January meeting as a forum to show off our new laptops and in addition, have offered the user group members a discount price for dinner.

Hello - my name is Bob and I live in Minneapolis. I just received my XO yesterday - turned it on and all seems to be fine. I haven't been able to get that T-Mobile HotSpot PIN number yet (my reference number seems to be invalid). I didn't get the "your XO has shipped" email but I did get the unit itself.

I'm wondering whether the 17th is the only meeting planned. I'm in a play that opens that night in St. Cloud so I won't be available.

wmcteer, I have applied to the google group (which shows 19 members). My actual location is Burke, VA. We plan to take six OLPC to Kibwezi Educational Centre in Kenya, East Africa (July).
