we are helping blind students in Russia and want to send them computers. can the computers be used with Cyrillic screen readers? Harris Sussman, Boston

Do you have a link to any of the screen readers?
Are they hardware or software based?

I installed a screen reader on my normal computer a while ago using mbrola and a kde program called kmount (I think...) together with konquer. That worked sort of but one had to select the text that was supposed to be read aloud so it was more geared towards badsigthed people.
