Thanks for posting about your Traveling XO!  I'm a college student, G1G1 recipient and activity programmer.  With a second XO I would be able to test group activities in my area of interest: mapping and GIS.  This is a promising technology in demand by governments, NGOs, and companies worldwide.

The current Maps activity runs an old version of Google's API through a personal website.  My goal would be to have a new version or activity using (a) the latest API, directly from the XO, (b) the Static Maps API, for slower connections, and (c) more options to collaborate on maps.

I already have (a) working on my XO, and enough experience with the canvas element to do (b).  With two XOs, I would be able to redesign a faster, classroom-friendly version of Maps.  My wiki page is here: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/User:Ndoiron

Ndoiron,  I love the idea of mapping with the XO.  If you haven't gotten an offer from anyone else, I'll send you my XO forthwith.  I'll email you directly for logisitics

Any chance of someone from the DC users group getting their hands on an XO 1.5 motherboard and upgrading one of these machines?

Hey Wayan, I'm considering applying for a grant to get some more XOs for my classroom.
If you still have some XOs floating around, I can field test to see what my students and I would actually be able to do with the mesh.

ooops  just re-read old posts and realized that I prolly should let someone else have a turn.

I'm still processing if it's feasible for me to get my students working on the XOs anyways

I know this is an old post but I am trying to find an XO for my :Technology for Teachers class. I teach this at a community college in Missouri and would like to expose these future teachers to its function and power to change the world. I would be willing to buy one or borrow one. The only ones I can find for sale are on Ebay and have been going for over $200. I was hoping to get it for less as I am on a budget. If you have any suggestions on how I could get a hold of one, please let me know.
Thanks!
