I am wondering if i can run a linux distro like slax or DSL on xo?

I tried slax "the usb version" but the xo hang at boot

I made a olpc.fth file

\ OLPC boot script
unfreeze
" u:\boot\initrd" to ramdisk
boot u:\boot\vmlinuz root=sda1

Am i right ? or what's the problem?

You need an XO-specific kernel and to modify initrd accordingly.
