Hi Mavrothal,

Great find, the new 579 version of JWM.  The xrandr behavior is much better, and it fixes the behavior of your app panel too.

I think the sis USB dongle behavior is pretty much working, at least enough to be called 'beta'.

I seem to be having some problems with the 579 build - the panel (with clock, tray icons, "Menu") doesn't appear on startup and I have to run the "FB Panel Refresh"  program in  the Desktop  menu to make it appear. Not sure if that was my doing, though, I was tinkering with the panel settings to try and reduce it to 2 virtual desktops (didn't work).

JWM configuration is in /root/.jwmrc (and links to files there in).
However, .jwmrc is rebuild when running fixmenus or installing a pet using the /etc/xdg/templates/_root_.jwmrc file as template. In this file you can change the number of desktops and other things, so they'll stick.

FBpanel is not used with JWM, so maybe something is over tinkered Cheesy
Maybe at this point is a good idea to try a fresh install and just put in the things that you know should work Wink

The XOpup PuppyPackageManager needed an update for the new (and changed) repo locations and databases, but also interface and usage.
So here it is

One nice (I believe) feature I added is the possibility to search for a package using simple descriptive terms (up to 2) like " video player ", instead of some strange package name like " *xine " Grin

Fixed the tray - there's a bug that eats the configuration file /root/.jwmrc-tray

Huh
what bug?
How/when /root/.jwmrc-tray is "eaten"?
Is jwmrc-tray still present in your _root._jwmrc file?

I'm not sure when or how, it might have something to do with trying to use GTK themes in the JWM configuration tool.  What happens is at some point the file /root/.jwmrc-tray gets blanked, set to 0 length.  Without this file, the JWM taskbar/tray won't start.

I solved the problem using the same method as the OP I linked to - copy-pasted someone else's .jwmrc-tray file.

One of the nice things of puppy and the layered file systems in general, is that the original files are never changed and always available (just masked).
In puppy they are in the /initrd/pup_ro2/ directory. You can always copy them from there. eg /initrd/pup_ro2/root/.jwmrc-tray

If you have problems accessing this or other "puppylinux for the XOs" threads for discussion/questions/requests you can use the relevant Puppylinux forum thread at: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=60155

I know, this forum is closed but still... Cheesy

Puppy Precise for the XOs is out.  Grin

Could be XOpup-3.0 but do not try to update you XOpup-2.x builds with it.
Just start fresh and enjoy Ubuntu Precise 12.04 (LTS) compatibility and puppy speed.
