Sorry, to hear that awaistoor.
You probably doing something systematically wrong but certainly I can not tell what. This very page above has enough info for you to find out...
But I think the simplest thing is to just try a factory fresh SDcard or USB stick
without any reformatting
. Did you try that?
Works just fine and with the new version save-times are almost the same as saving to the entire partition, while boot times are faster.
yup ... as i said i tried everything .. i bought 2 new sd cards for dis purpose n used both of dem widout reformatting dem ... i just plug it on my olpc n done formatting according to the instructions wich u gave ... but still not working ... dats y im confused dat y isnt it working ... and when i install teapot's ubuntu on any sdcard it work fine

Have you actually checked that your download is OK?
Does it has the correct md5sum?
Did you ever try on a simple USB stick?
Did you try to boot without the "PVEDV1" option?
What is the output of "fdisk -l /dev/mmcblk0"?
What king of cards are they (size, class, brand)?
etc...
I think by "I tried and didn't work" we are not getting anywhere.
If you want to get to the bottom of it, repeat the process from the beginning (card formatting), keeping notes of what you did and any messages that appear during the processes. Verify card formatting and filesystem and verify the download integrity and tell us about them as precise as possible.

type: "md5sum /path_to_file/XOpup-2.tar.gz" you should get "2ae743e6bb5da4d327049bb7d3c8b85b"

You mean fdisk I guess also the second time.
In any case this may suggest that indeed is a problem with the card itself.
Everything else looks ok but if you can, post the output of this command
"tune2fs -l /dev/mmcblk0p1" (this is small letter l, not number 1) because the identifier looks a bit strange.
One last think. Which firmware version are you running? Older firmware version had problems with the cards. If you have not updated to q2e45, do so and try again

OK, that's one problem, means you do not have the correct download.
download again.

Thank you for being persistent
Do you by any chance speak any Spanish, to give a try to the Spanish localization of XOpup-2?
It is here
http://www.datafilehost.com/download-db3b348d.html
(md5sum: 4a7ed094b948b8f8ffd6ea011880f867).
If you do just download, extract, click "instalar" to install and let us now how far from "ok" it is ...

As the XOpup-2 build announcement says, "wxCam can not estimate frame-rate correctly".
01micko
compiled the guvcview application for XOpup that does
if you
adjust the settings
a bit.
Find guvcview and its dependencies in the second post of
this thread

Thanks mavrothal.
Also in
"that thread"
you will find a new script for the
freeramdaemon
.. which might be annoying but is necessary especially on the XO-1. I have modified it to offer the creation of swap space in case you missed that in the first-run setup screen.
Enjoy!

From Quickpet -> sfs tab, download the sfs version of VLC.
You do not need to reboot as the quickpet suggests.
From menu->Setup->Setup Puppy->sfs-load on the fly first unload it (is not really loaded yet) and then load it from the drop down list.
Start it from the menu. Not the RUN command within sfs-load.
Works fine at my end
