After doing a suspend/resume the volume resets to 81% and will adjust but always returns to that level within 8 to 10 seconds.
I do not have XOpup-2.1 in any of my machines since a week knowI'm testing xopup-204, but it does NOT happen in XOpup-2.2.RC. Volume stays where you left it!
But I can see how this may be happening in earlier builds. The reconnect script runs all the services in init.d. These include alsa, which I suspect resets the volume to the default 81%.
XOpup-2.2.RC uses a different reconnect script, thus does not have this problem.
One more bug fixed, then
One more reason to update to
XOpup-2.2.RC

OK, just installed the Pup 2.2 revision, thanks!
I've not yet looked at the Wifi net feature (frisbee) but the installation itself was easy and efficient, looking good!
Couple of minor followups, the install overwrote my .fstab file so my mount point "shortcuts" on my desktop went away as did my "Swap" file partition, boot install was lost for these items.
BUT I think the boot sequence is now faster, and after hacking the .fstab those boot features ran normally without a hitch ;-) And the rest of my "Customized" desktop settings arrived safely, carried thru the installation without problems.
Further details to follow, didn't have much time last night to review after the installation but my if my previous "Alsa Volume Issues" are resolved these "Tweak" followups are minor by comparison,
Thanks Again

Well,... during the update, at the end or the process and before you get to the desktop it, says with nice purple letters:
"You are upgrading Puppy from version 203 to 204
Overwritten old files have been moved to /tmp/versioncleanup/
After bootup please examine this directory (before shutdown) for anything
that you might like to recover. Pausing 30 secs so you can read this msg..."

Hmmm. OK. I'll take your word for that since I walked away from the install and returned to have the desktop up and running
But I'll keep that in mind for future use.
Not a complaint, the transition was STILL quite smooth.
But as I've said those were minor "Hiccups" and the rest of the install went nicely, saved my settings.
Thanks again!

Mavrothal,
The alsa issue is resolved!
The update was apparently revision enough that the Suspend/Resume process doesn't reset to a default 81% volume anymore, as you suggested on this page.
And the "Frisbee" protocol works well, much better than the "Simple Connect" I was using before the update.
Thanks again for the great support, appreciate that effort!

Hopefully, next month will be going to XOpup-2.2, pending the solution of the proper detection of external mice/keyboards by the suspend mechanism (currently have a solution for XO-1.5 but not XO-1).
So, as customary I was looking for a new wallpaper. Thus the above
Does not have the puppy and OLPC logos anymore and is using the Apple-fashionable cloth background, but is maybe too doggish
.
What do you think?
If you have any cool wallpaper (make sure that is free to use) that you think would look nice for XOpup-2.2, post it here and maybe we'll pick it

Hello Mavrothal, Great Puppy build, thanks.
Couple Questions
How can I tell I am running the new build? I un-tar into root but still have the old network tray at login, things seem the same. Probably a good thing, imho.
Do I need the touchpad script fixes if I have upgraded my XO-1 touchpad to the newer version?

Check /etc/DISTO_SPECS. DISTRO_VERSION should be "204" for XOpup-2.2.RC.
Make sure when you untar the build that you replace the boot, boot10 and boot15 folders with the new ones too. Not just the sfs file. Otherwise you still run the older version

Oh yeah, missed that in the changelog. Turns out I untared in /root, that does not work. This build is nice, thanks again for the upgrade.
Now, How do I disable the touchpad app? I thought it would be in ~/startup but I do not see it.

Is not ON by default. The user must start it from Menu>Desktop>Desktop Settings and there has the option to autostart it at boot.

Com on people help me out here.
I can not decide on the XOpup-2.2 wallpaper
So
TAKE A LOOK HERE
and let me know which one you like best
Port,
Sahara,
kid or
beach?
I prefer the port, but maybe is too dark for daily use
Given that each one is ~100KB I do not want to add more than 2 in the build.

I like Port.
Sahara and beach would be next, and kid last.

I would agree.
Port and Sahara are also the two wallpapers that show nice with all 4 desktop icon-themes. Particularly "Port".
They are also the smallest of the 4
Thx

I vote "Port", then Sahara. But what do I know, I installed my own background. Thanks again, Mavrothal

Sahara, and make sure you super impose a puppy on one of those boulders in the background. I will when I get a chance.
