hey im using ubuntu on olpc n every thing is going gr8.. now im interested to install skype on in .. so any help how to install skype as i tried to install it but it gives me error  Huh

ummm im using ubuntu 8.10 on my olpc n i upgrade it every month
i tried running it through terminal ... but it dont install properly
it gives error Undecided

I'm afraid this is not any more informative... Shocked
WHAT/HOW did you try to install eg what is the package full name, where did you get it from, what was the terminal command you gave?
WHAT/WHEN is the error eg what exactly the terminal shows, at which point in the process, after which command?

Ubuntu 8.10/Intrepid is not supported anymore by Canonical so it may be tricky to find packages for download. Try to get an older skype.deb from HERE if you used the latest from Skype and did not work. Just double click on it and hopefully you will not be missing any dependancies that you can not find.

well i dont remember it as i havent tried it for last 2 3 months but i think dat i download d .deb file of the latest skype ... n after dat i just gave command dpkg with file name to extract .. but it gave some error (which i dont remember now Tongue ) .. moreover it shows the icon on the penal but ddnt run ...
1 more question i wana ask dat wenever i have to install something on olpc ubuntu i have to give commands to install it ... is there any way dat i can only install .deb files by double clicking on it .. like in normal ubuntu
