I am running debxo 0.5 and have everything running *almost* perfectly, or as perfectly as things are getting, I guess.
I hear others talking about the volume control in the gnome incarnation working properly, and I am having a quite different experience.
When I push the F-keys for volume up or down, it appears to be modifying the master-mono level, rather than the "master" level. This has no effect the volume for the I determined this by looking at the Volume Control window while tinkering, and I can't seem to get it to change. If someone could tell me how to change this, I'd be incredibly thankful.

Ah-HA!
Sorry, nonfamiliarity with gnome was the issue.
gnome-sound-properties needs to be fiddled with.
Change from "master-mono" to "master" and you're all set.
Of course I figure this out after I've posted to a not-entirely-appropriate forum.
Apologies. . .
