The latest release of openSUSE 11.2 Edu Li-f-e is a customised variant of the Linux distribution aimed at education, specifically children and students, includes a number of Educational applications.

It features a choice of GNOME 2.28, KDE 4.3, Sugar 0.86 (made famous by the OLPC Project) or IceWM for the desktop environment, although GNOME is the default selection. Educational applications in the release include various development programs, such as IDEs, compilers and debuggers, an office suite and "complete multimedia support". Additionally, LTSP server is included, so users can run openSUSE on PC's in the network without needing to install or modify local disks.
