Ok, so I have left my OLPC on a self for over a year, finally had the time to bring it back out for a project, and went through the olpc-update process to get the 802 installed.

Very cool, and very nice..

So I look around for a bit, and can't find any activities to launch... but I do see a nifty Software Update feature, and after getting reconnected to the internet, a list of 37 possible items appears.

I figure I can just click next, wait an hour and it will be all good:

Nope, one hour later the screen still says "Starting Download"...

No problem, I figure a reboot, and perhaps a smaller list might do the trick.

tried installing ONLY terminal.

No dice, just sites at Starting Download.

I have verified through the console I do have a working internet connection.

Thoughts?

Do an offline upgrade from a USB storage (Key/Pen drive) or SD card.
Follow directions here http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Release_notes/8.2.0

Note that this process will COMPLETELY erase ALL files on your XO!
Make sure you have backed up any files you want to save.
