Yikes, sticker shock!  It costs more than I spent on my (refurb) full-sized laptop.

I can see myself waiting until the price comes down on these, then getting one. That might mean either waiting until refurbished models become available, or until the next model is released and the older models' prices are reduced.

P.S. The Eee 701 from which I'm sending this post fits both criteria: subsequent models were released, and I got it refurbished. Long live refurb computers.

The CTL guys claims 5.5 hours of battery life which probably translates into something like 3.5 ~ 4 hours of actual use which isn't too shabby I'd say...

I'm glad to see that HP actually came to market with it. At LAST year's CES they displayed the same machine and claimed it would be coming to market in 2009 for $200.00 USD! (I think there were 2 other smaller manufacturers that were presenting similar machines for 75% more, but they probably went under as a result of HP's bogus announcement).
