Seems like UK Donors are going to have to wait a little longer for their XO's

I got a mail from Kimberley Quirk at G1G1, saying that they have had problems getting UK power adapters for the XO's in time.

So my delivery ETA of the 22nd, has gone. I don't expect to see my XO till the new year now..

I wonder if it would be possible to get these as spares?

My G1G1 which due to the strength of the pound 12 months ago, cost me less even with the reshipping company and other hassles than the G1G1 this time around.

The US power adapter works reasonably well with a shaver adapter, but a proper UK adapter would be better. The ideal solution would be one of those adapters with interchangeable plugs.

OLPC's Community News says:

The UK orders were complicated because the CE marks
inadvertently were left off the chargers, and needed to be affixed. The
UK laptops are just arriving in country now and will be shipped by the
end of the month.

Well now I am really confused.

I got a mail on 26th Dec to say that my order had been canceled, due to non-shipment of my item, so I re-ordered the same day.

I then got a mail on 27th Dec to say that my order had been shipped on the 27th Dec. I got a tracking number with that so I checked against Royal Mails 'Track and Trace' website and I got this message

17/01/08 Your item has left WARMINSTER Delivery Office and should arrive shortly if it has not already been received

First the date is January last year and second I live nowhere near Warminster

Also if you look at the OLPC page on Amazon, it says these are not going to be shipping till 15th Jan 2009.

So as I say, totally confused!
