I am using my USB adapter from XO Explosion for the first time right now.

it just works. I have a Belkin retractable CATe cable attaching the USB adapter to one of the available ports on the back of my wireless router. I hooked everything up while the XO was off, powered up the XO, and bingo. instant internet. Smiley

Thumbs WAY up for this adapter! Now I'll be able to connect whether there's wifi or wired internet. I'm a happy camper. Smiley

Re: The Zowii LAN Adaptor

>you don't need the CD.  the CD contains drivers for Windows.

What CD?? All I got was the zowii in a little plastic bag. Winblows drivers would be very usefull!

Update: The Automagic New Hardware thingie in my WInblows downloaded the drivers for me but still, it would be nice to have the official CD. Oh well.

Now to see which is faster: Ethernet or USB.

BTW: Win sees it as an "ASIX AX88772 USB2.0 to fast ethernet adaptor".

The ZoWii doesn't come with a driver CD. But you can download additional drivers fromthe manufacturer's site: http://www.zoltantech.com/UsbLanA.php?op=download

I just received a D-Link DUB-E100, Ver. B1.  Plugged it into my router and the XO, and it just works.  No software to load or futz with.  It works with both Sugar (656) and Ubuntu Hardy.

Hello!

I have the same, but lately I have been using my neighbor's WiFi, so I am more portable and save 5 watts of power for my cable modem.

I will mostly be using WiFi; I just wanted to have a wired option for when I travel.

I can just imagine what the wife would say if I strung a cable from the computer room upstairs to the living room downstairs.  {smile}

Hello!

I am using a D-Link DUB-E100 adapter, but there are some other smaller adapters available,

Just plug in your ethernet cable into your modem and unplug and plug back in the modem, It uses 5 amps of electricity. Attach the USB adapter to your XO and turn it on!

Simple!

I use 50ft. of ethernet cable, so my cable modem can stay in the other room.
