ok..so the xo is new to me and i have many questions.
1.why do the mesh icons continue to blink? there is no mesh or school to connect with and i'm not looking to connect to mesh or a school, i want to connect to the internet but i think the mesh is interfering with that. also i have wireless in my home and i can find it in network but the key doesn't work when i type it in plus, of course, the mesh circles are always blinking too.  i found an unlocked circle and got the xo to connect to it twice and i even got on the internet  but not anymore. if i can somehow get to the google page, i cannot get any websites to come up anymore.
2.the terminal page seems to be permanently stuck on " hello children of the world" so that when clicking become root all i get is -bash-3.2#...what is that?
3.in the control panel and going to network, clicking discard network history does nothing. when you click it, is it supposed to do something or say something?

if these questions are somewhere in the forum, i could not find them..sorry.

The mesh icons are trying to find other XO's  -  they give up after a few cycles through all. If you try other icons and the connections fail , this will start all over.

The [bash-3.2]  is the prompt, like C:>  on a PC.  It means you are "super user" and it is awaiting a command ( for the kernel;  BourneAgainShell).

It erases network history file:  /olpc/home/.sugar/default/nm/networks.cfg       Not sure if you have to reboot afterward  - safest to reboot.  If things are not going well, this will remove any  bad / incorrect infomation about your access point.
