This and the following 4 posts post will be updated without new thread posts so make a bookmark and check back when your next problem arises...

I thought to just catalogue here general instructions/additions/modifications to Teapot’s Ubuntu Intrepid for the XO     http://www.olpcnews.com/forum/index.php?topic=4053.0 so will be easier to find them when that thread also becomes 20+ pages long… I intent to try to keep up but I’m not perfect Tongue

PLEASE DO NOT POST DISCUSSIONS, INSTRUCTIONS or QUESTIONS HERE. If they are related to the Intrepid installation, modifications etc, post them to the above original Intrepid thread or the thread they are coming from or open a new one.
If some solution/approach posted here is wrong, or you have identified a better/simpler post, send a private message to the poster. If there is no response after few days, post your own.
There is no point to have another huge and/or duplicate thread.
Also please avoid “good idea” “bad idea” kind of posts…

I just hope for an index-like thread/post here that links TO THE EXACT POST for a solutions to an Intrepid related problem/modification. You are welcome to add links (if not present) but please make references to posts that you have tried. DO NOT reference posts that you think they should work.

Because of size limitation of this ever expanding post and for ease of use, it is now divided in 4 separate posts below

Although I try to place issues in the sections that I think they fit best, you may have e different idea... So you may want to check the whole thread or try "find" in this web page to check if your problem has been already addressed.

INSTALLATION/SD card ISSUES
Should not be any (!) if you follow the instructions  Grin But....

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DEVELOPER'S KEY
You can get it from the Browse.activity home page or here
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Activation_and_developer_keys
otherwise Ubuntu will not boot even if installation looks OK...

SD CARDs THAT MAY HAVE ISSUES
This is from various reports reporting problems with specific SD cards and Intrepid. Keep in mind that the reported problems can be "user specific", that card specs are changing very often, that a specific card type of a give brand may have problem and another not, that there are conflicting reports about the same card (!), and that in most cases the exact product number is missing...
So take the info with a couple of grains of salt (at least), and report your experience in the forum for other cards that you may have problems with, as accurate as possible.
