Installing Sugar onto a normal PC ...

Just to be clear, I'm trying to get a standard sugar image onto a regular PC and I was wondering if anyone here could offer so advice.  So far I have accomplished the following:

1. Partitioned and formatted the disk
2. Untarred 8.2/devel_ext3-tree onto the root partition
3. Copied a Slackware kernel into /boot
4. Modified /etc/fstab and /boot/grub/grub.conf to reflect the hard drive layout and new kernel
5. Modified /etc/X11/xorg.conf to use the vesa device, instead of fbdev

Questions that I have:

1. How can I figure out the contents of olpcrd.img?
2. What could cause X to look for AIGLX on the PC?  I don't think that it's even used on the XO.

EDIT: fixed subject (weird, it can't be fixed)

I got "those little things on your feet" in this post, too.  I tried to fix it, but it wouldn't stick.  NIce to know I'm not going nuts.

Maybe both of us are crazy. Wink

I just tried to change s-h-o-e-h-o-r-n-i-n-g into installing and all seems to be okay now.  The problem appears to be with the word s-h-o-e.  (No hyphens in either case.)

Aaaa.. that's the hack the s-h-o-e-spammers are using! Maybe admins should look at it.

XO-1: Is never going to run Flash, but is certainly flashy!
(If you want Flash, get an XO-1.5 running OLPC 11.2.0 or XOpup Grin )
