Certainly interested.  Anything further on venue and possible dates?

Unfortunately, I can't do anything until after October 25, when I return from the AoIR (association of internet researchers) conference in Copenhagen. We're running a panel on OLPC and 2 of us from Toronto are presenting papers. It would be neat if someone took up the helm before then and organized something, but I can do something for november... perhaps even do short presentations on the papers if there's any interest.

The session's entitled: Is this the Diamond Age? Exploring competing goals for the OLPC project. And the papers are: Mesh-worked Minds: Methodological Possibilities afforded by One Laptop Per Child; OLPC in Birmingham Alabama: An Examination of the First Mass Dissemination Project in the U.S. School System; Songchild on the OLPC: Authentic voices co-constructing identity in meshed-networked learning environments; and Communities of praxis: the SL and OLPC components of a mixed-reality primer.

Jason,

Just my opinion, but when you get back, you should make a post about it for OLPC News.

Has there been any headway on a Toronto meetup? Unfortunately, I missed the Ontario Linux Fest. I've been wanting to meet some other local XO hackers for the past year.

Interested in hearing if there is a get together in Toronto. I am not really a hacker but have followed the program - actually giving a presentation about XO at a conference next week so any time after that for me would great.

Also interested in a meetup.  I hear the LinuxCaffe on Harbord has been renovated...

I'm still interested.  I don't particularly like driving into the city (I live in Burlington) but if we have a place and time, I'm in.  The Toronto Rails group meets at the Rhino on Queen West, they have an area in the back that's OK for groups.  They also have an excellent beer selection.
