well, sorry, I havent post it yet, but I bought my touchscreen from hantouch.com, and then I have assembly it. It looks quite nice - http://pub.clevis.org/touchscreen.jpg (this is without case). I will upload more foto, but now I am goint to bike for a week (test my OLPC in hard conditions : D )

I tried to find an 8 inch 4:3 touchscreen kit when I got my XO last fall but couldn't find one
your post let me search again and now I also found one

but before I order mine
I'd like to profit from your experience :-)
where did you put the controller and can you still close the whole case when the touchscreen is installed?

I have personal hell this week - my school year ends, exam periods begins, we are organizing new office, founding company etc...

But I have uploaded assembly photos - http://olpc.clevis.org/. Later (next week? - if I forgot, please mail me : ) I will write some more infos + page etc (I have bought domain olpc.cz, where I want write something about assembly touchscreen on olpc; installing some other linux distro, like crux, etc...).

Everything is working (basicaly you can use your finger instead of touchpad); I bought  7.5" touchscreen+controller from hantouch.com (I comunicated with [email protected]).

Whitek, I promise I will leave you alone till next week, but I would really appreciate it if you give us a small write up on your procedure when you get a chance. I have been waiting for someone to try this so I could benefit from their experience since I got my XO!  Being able to use the screen in tablet mode is a dream!!

I see a few good leads there.  I have some questions for you to get back to us on! 

Do you mind giving us an idea how much the screen costs? 
Is this soldered on as a serial or USB device? 
Is the touch experience 1:1?  (Does it put the mouse directly under where you touch)?
How do you adjust the appropriate screen size?

Its a shame you have to cut away at one of the game keys to get it to fit right, but I don't think I'm mind that much.
