Hello,
I tried to install xo-get using the diections on olpc wiki,

wget xo-get.olpc.at
chmod u+x xo-get.py

I then thought I needed the xo-get gui, so I

./xo-get.py install xo-get

No icon came up in my activity bar, and I dont know how to open it in terminal.
I tried ./xo-get.py start xo-get  with no luck,

Did I do the install correctly?  How do I search for it to see if it installed?
If I did somthing wrong with the install, can I delete any garbage I did install?

Hi!

I got mine XO-Get from Wiki directly!

xo-get.py is a blue colored link. xo-get.py (GPL) is what you will see.

Yes I found the blue link for the download on a different wiki page:
wiki.laptop.org/go/activities
Clicked on it and there it was installed on my activity bar.
Just wish I had not screwed around in terminal trying the other method.

so the gui works now for you?  no issues at all?  where and what did you click on to get the GUI working with xoget?  that sounds like something i should install myself.

any help you can give is appreciated.

I installed it and its AWESOME!  there was a small problem at first, but i'm pretty sure it has something to do with my trying to install and uninstall 10+ things at once . 

i reinstalled and now only do one item at a time, it works great!

I installed xo-get, it shows the light bulb icon and starts up ok, but there are no activities shown. I click on "refresh" but everything's empty. Am I doing something wrong?

Hello!

I reflashed my XO with 656. Then, I downloaded XO-Get using my default browser. I add Sonata via XO-Get. Do an Opera with flash installation. I add my free telephone Activity, Twinkle via Terminal, and finally add Midnight Commander.

I am set now!

For me, 656 beats 767!

I lost my Opera working correctly, Sonata & Twinkle did not operate!

I thought my WiFi was not correctly operating buy using a neighbor's Wifi, but after trying other WiFi's available from my bathroom, I discovered I can get other WiFi's!
