I just installed Firefox today and I am loving it. I was trying to figure out how to import my bookmarks from Firefox on my Mac. I ended up saving the bookmarks to my USB drive and then trying to upload them that way to no avail.

While in Firefox I went to: File/Open File and there it opened up a window where I could click on each root/directory on the OLPC. I could even search my USB and SD card. This was cool to me because I am much more of a window based person.

Just wanted to put it out there. I am not sure if it will allow you to remove/delete files in that window. But that is something for someone else to determine!

Look for the bookmarks.html file on your XO. Make a note of the full address, including the file name. (It should be something like /home/olpc/.mozilla/firefox/xxxxxxx.default/bookmarks.html)

Plug in your USB/SD, go into Terminal and copy the bookmarks.html file on the removable device onto the location of the file on the XO:

cp /media/[name of your USB/SD]/bookmarks.html [full address noted in the last step]

If you plan to use the two machines interchangeably, imho the easiest way to keep bookmarks in sync between the two is to start storing your bookmarks in a del.icio.us account.
