WOW!!!

I used a meter called Kill A Watt and saw my 32 inch LCD TV used 100 watts on the default medium room light setting, 120 watts on high room setting, and 80 watts on dark room setting. Noiw, I use 80 watts with no noticeable difference.

I changed my 17 inch desktop LCD monitor from the default 90 brightness to 0 brightness and expect more great electricity savings. Again, no difference in performance.

Place your XO LCD on the lowest possible setting and your other LCD monitors while you are thinking about the subject!!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah, these power meters are cool tools.  I'm into vintage computing and went around measuring a bunch of old computers and newer computers a while back and it is amazing to see how power use has increased (particularly in going from the 8-bit/16-bit to 32-bit era).  Factor in things like ghost-loads and all of a sudden all of this modern "energy efficient" technology looks like gluttons.

Hi!

I saw the video of the green machine at the confernce and friends decided they wanted to get an XO, but now they missed their chance of G1G1. I got my information from HomePower as a source where they suggested phantom loads.

Yesterday a neighbor here in Cali, Colombia assisting us with our new born and charging us little money was given an 8 year 20 watt Phillips florescent bulb as an additional gift. I thought she was replacing a 60 watt incandescent bulb, but she replaced a 100 watt incandescent bulb! Shocked
