Help!  No idea how to connect.  Figured being a CCNP, this would not be an issue.  But, it is!  Typical Mixed (B&G) network, SSID broadcast, no encryption.

Where do I go on the XO, and how do I do it?

Recycled text from an earlier post of my own:

Got my XO laptop Dec. 13. I can tell you a bit about using unsecured networks. Find and use the "X" mouse button to click on the Neighborhood icon (upper left) (or push the Neighborhood key, which is third from the left on the very top row). You will see three circles labeled mesh 1, 6, and 11. Ignore them. You will see an XO in the center--that is your laptop. If you have networks nearby, they will show up as circles of various colors and various names--either with padlocks or without. Some circles are full and some are half empty or or one quarter full (I'm assuming that one quarter full is a relatively weak signal, but even that was good enough for me to connect and browse the Internet). Find a circle without a padlock and use the "x" mouse button to click on it. Nothing will appear to happen at first. Then you will notice (not on the screen but to the lower left of the screen) a flashing green light that looks like this (.) That's the network activity indicator. You will also notice that circle icon (on the screen) begin to flash. After about 45 seconds hover your mouse pointer on that same network circle and you will see that the black tab now has a disconnect option--that means you are now connected to that network. (Another user has reported that when connected the thin outside ring of the circle will change color--possibly to white). Press the frame key  (top row, far right) to view your task bar and then use the mouse to click on the globe symbol to launch the browser. That's it.
