Strange problems with panels on xfce Ubuntu on XO

I've been running Teapot's xfce-Ubuntu on my XO, but after a while, the Ubuntu logo disappeared from the top panel.  I reinstalled a main xfce menu widget using the add-to-panel.   Later I noticed that suddenly when I launch programs, such as Firefox, the program is shown twice on the bottom panel.  Both instances on the bottom panel seem to behave the same -- they don't refer to two separate processes running instances of the program.  That is, clicking on either panel causes the same window containing Firefox to appear or minimize.

Does anybody know what went wrong?   I haven't been tweaking any configuration files.

Assuming that the 2 instances are not attached to each-other (when you have only one application/window open) most likely you have added another "task list"  to the panel. With nothing open right-click at the area that the second instance appear and select "remove". Should ask you if you want to remove the "task list". Confirm.

XO-1: Is never going to run Flash, but is certainly flashy!
(If you want Flash, get an XO-1.5 running OLPC 11.2.0 or XOpup Grin )

Thanks, that took care of it!   I don't know how the second instance of the task list was added to the panel, but you were right, there were two of them.  I right clicked on one and removed it.
