Doggone it.

I was able to download the file to my SD card, uncompress it, and move the accessx and ax files to /usr/bin.

However, I am getting errors with the yum install tk command.

The first time I tried it, I got these errors:

error: couldn't fork %post: Cannot allocate memory
error: couldn't fork %pre: Cannot allocate memory
error: install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping tk-8.4.13-6.fc7

Actually, those were the errors I got prior to downloading, uncompressing, and moving accessx and ax to /usr/bin . After I did those things, I entered the command accessx, and got the error

/usr/bin/accessx: liner: exec: wish: not found

So did su again and tried to yum install tk again. This time, I got these errors:

error: couldn't fork %pre: Cannot allocate memory
error: install: %pre scriptlet failed (2), skipping tk-8.4.13-6.fc7
----

Here's the thing: when you're doing this, don't have anything else running! Close everything but the Terminal window. When I did that and did the yum install tk again, it worked fine!

I tip my cap to moocapiean and everyone who helped work out the process of installing accessx in this thread. Smiley

I've been following this thread.
AWESOME!

Is there anyone who can put this in condensed form on the olpc wikki accessibility page?

When I'm feeling a little more energetic, I will try to get this working on my computer.

I'll get working on posting it to the OLPC wiki as a new page that is linked to from the Accessibility page (http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Accessibility).  The one question I have is, how can people access the file I compiled?  It seems as though you have to be logged in to download a file linked to a post on here.  Is it possible to upload a file to the wiki?

I'm not sure.  I'm on the accessibility list and I will ask there,

Thank you very much!  I am glad you posted it there on the wiki too.  I posted a link to that page on the "official" forum as well.
