I saw this on the gizmodo website, and have heard about this from a few other sources.  THIS would be so cool for the XO.  Be great for those of us who would like to use our XO's out in the wild.

I saw an article about this yesterday. This is one of those ideas that causes me to respond, "Gee, I wish I'd thought of that!" Smiley What a pity this invention didn't exist a few years ago, when I was injured and wore a knee brace for months... I can only imagine the number of batteries I could have charged in all that time. I could have single-handedly kept every radio and flashlight in the time zone going. Wink

I hope that an affordable version of this device eventually becomes available to the general public.

Since the military has a interest in it to help the soldiers cut down on weight, and there are also thoughts of them being able to power prosthetic leg(s), I think this could be avaliable very soon.  It's more practical than the yo-yo(for most people, not me, I still want one).
