Polarity of XO and universal power cords with specialized tips

I've been searching for the polarity of the XO. I have a bunch of different power sources (car adapters, Targus universal power cords, APC universal batteries) that advise you to be absolutely sure of the polarity of the plug so as not to fry the device.

Usually I can look on the device for the polarity (a O with a circle inside that is labeled + and -) or the battery, but I can't find this for the XO (I've spent some time in the forums as well as Googling it...)

I have learned that the XO can accept variable power inputs (12V to 15V I believe - don't quote me on that! will the someone who responds please clarify that?)

I have also seen speculation that the XO doesn't care about polarity (and therefore I don't need to worry about it - I'll just get any power source that is the right voltage and fits the plug opening on the XO (which I have found the dimensions of, that you may or may not be able to buy something at Radio Shack, and other information that doesn't quite answer my question))

Anyone have the answer or any idea how I might go about finding the answer?

Much obliged. Lynn

Lynn, you can see the polarity diagram on a label the inside of the battery compartment after you remove the battery. The XO is center positive.

I've reversed polarity within the - 32 to + 40 voltage range tolerated. The XO just doesn't charge or power on. The official hardware spec is here:

http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Hardware_specification

Says usable input voltage is 11 to 18 v.
