Don't forget that we're having the first ever:

OLPC LC-DC Holiday Meetup
December 18, 7 PM
Mayorga Cafe &  Lounge
3301 14th. St. NW
http://olpclearningclub.org/meetings/olpc-lcdc-holiday-meetup-update/

We will have three special guests with us from other OLPC organizing groups:

  • Bryan Berry, External Relations Manager, OLE Nepal
  • Christoph Derndorfer and Aaron Kaplan from OLPC Austria

Bryan, Christoph, and Aaron will be giving us an overview of their progress in organizing local OLPC groups in their countries, and ideas on how to expand OLPC LC/DC.

What will you be bringing?

I'm curious about everything.

Well, I'm not likely going to be one of the first day donors who receive a production XO early in the Dec. 14-24 shipping window, but I'll bring my two B4 prototypes. I'll also have an ASUS Eee PC, a Chumby and accessories tested to work with the XO. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Curious as to whether there might be children coming to this event. My 10-year-old daughter loves technology but is not as fond of BOGSATs (Bunch of Geeks Sitting Around Talking, it wouldn't be DC without at least one acronym). Thought I would start a thread...

Bob, this first meeting will most likely be very BOCSAT (love the acronym!) but at least Mayorga is a cafe and could be kid-friendly.  If she's a Geek Jr. she may just love it.

I'll be there, at least for a while. I'll bring my G1G1 and anything cool I manage to do with it between now and then.
