I can't get FBReader to work. I have tried using the instructions. Perhaps I'm not getting something. I am a mac user and this is all very novel and a bit difficult for me to  figure out. I went to the terminal application. I typed su after the prompt nd got "bash-3.2#" after that I typed "rpm ivh http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/updates/7/i386/fbreader-0.8.8.10-1.fc7.386.rpm" I put spaces where the spaces appear to be. What I got back was

"error: skipping http://mirrors.kernel.org/fedora/updates/7/i386/fbreader-0.8.8.10-1.fc7.386.rpm - transfer failed- Unknown or unexpected error waring: u 0x807d388 ctrl 0x807d9c8 nrefs != 0 (mirrors.kernel.org http)"

What does all this mean?

Rebecca,

It means the file you were trying to download didn't exist. It had probably been replaced by a newer version with a different name.

See this post for instructions on installing FBReader that don't rely on a specific filename:

Good luck!
