But, what is getting angry going to do?  Waste time and energy.

HA HA HA, I love the fact that people feel the need to attack me and displace their anger.  I am posting how I am dealing with it - not telling you how to deal with it.

Your first quote doesn't have that tone at all - it reads like an admonition. (The "HA HA HA" opening didn't help with that impression either.)  Perhaps next time you could phrase it more clearly  - something like "But what is getting angry going to do for me?  It will only waste my time and energy."

(I also take issue with your assertion that charities shouldn't be held accountable for the time it takes them to do things, but I've discussed that lots of other places already.  Suffice it to say, I've never run into it from any other charity that I've donated to; I simply don't believe it to be true.)

Your replies don't bother me, I got my laptop last week.

Maybe you catch more flies with honey, than with brash statments and nasty replies.

Yes, if the writer has enough skill.  Why would newspapers have editorial pages otherwise?  Why would anyone bother writing anything if communicating the tone of the message was such a daunting task?  Of course it is more difficult to express nuances in writing than in person--but it is done successfully by millions every minute.  And lots  of those people don't use emoticons, either.

And maybe you were just lucky.  Go ahead and gloat, feel smug and self-satisfied...just remember:

"Watch out when you're getting all you want.  Fattenin' hogs aint' in luck."

"Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall."

"Pride breakfasted with Plenty, dined with Poverty, supped with Infamy."

I believe I will assume that you had fun with your laptop for 24 hours and then had to RMA it.  After an interminably long turn-around time, the laptop was shipped back to you but was lost by FedEx.

Now you didn't have a bit of trouble with the tone of this post, did you, and I didn't even need italics, bold print, caps, or smilies.

Now THAT reply bothers me.  So all the problems within OLPC that were exposed have magically vanished, now that you have an XO in hand?

I can promise I won't let that happen to me - not while there are others who are still feeling their effect.  I'll keep commenting, pushing, and fighting for them. (I must admit, it's somehow comforting to me to know that you won't be in that group.)

Enjoy your toy.
