Blank Activity Screen

So, when I use the browser I'm getting a blank screen with a small cursor in it.  This seems to happen when I go to websites with Flash.  I think.  I downloaded flash as per wiki.laptop instructions.  I also downloaded and installed firefox and opera....but I couldn't figure out how to install either.
So, my question:  How do I uninstall/remove Flash, Firefox and Opera?  I don't have  a Linux background, so I don't even know where to begin.  Something I did in the last day created this problem though, and those are the only 3 things I can think of.
Do I need to reinstall Sugar and wipe the whole computer clean?
I'm very frustrated, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link for how to uninstall flash:

I installed flash a couple of hours ago. So far it's not great. I get audio on youtube, but no video.

You can install a new os. It looks pretty complicated for a linux newbie, but this link has detailed step by step directions:

Good luck!

Koaziji:
thanks, I uninstalled Flash and that seems to have taken care of it (fingers crossed).
