I too would be interested in a 4-7pm meet.  North Central Toronto would be best for me.

I might be interested, especially if it was near the 401 or 407.

Apparently most "Made in Japan Teriyaki
Experience" restaurants, Williams Pub and Coffee bars, and the Sierra Grill at Bayview and Sheppard have free wi-fi.

Are there any Toronto/Ontario XOers willing and able to meet during the day or maybe from 4 - 7 p.m.?

I'll try to make it this Friday but it's an iffy. A big iffy. Next time for sure.

A 4-7 could also work for me. I can at most times leave work early.

I have plans Friday night, but might sneak in for a half hour ~7:30ish.  Looking forward to it.

Plans have changed!   I may swing by, maybe bring some friends.  Sounds like fun!

Can't wait to see one of these sodding things in person!

I wonder how the mtg went; hope someone will post!
Sorry about this cross-posting, I'm not sure how to point to other forum postings:

I spoke with David at the Linuxcaffe this evening, and this Friday is fine - although possibly not the best day for regular meetings.

I think it would be good to treat this one as a Meet-Up, very informal. Show up any time after 7:00 - I may not make it until 7:30 myself. David will throw out any hangers-on by about 9:30 or 10:00, I expect.

That should give us plenty of time to pick out the natural leaders and gauge interest for a larger spot or a different day.

See you all there on Friday - Feb the 1st!

I am curious how the meeting went too... The weather was pretty bad so I wonder how many dedicated XOs there were that went.  If I lived downtown I would have definitely been there...

Next meeting/day/time?

If you really wanted to know, you'da been there!

Oh, well, I'll tell. There were five of us, four with varying degrees of programming experience, and one interested (and interesting) user. Linuxspice claims to live there, so she got there first. The rest of us filtered in by seven thirty or quarter to eight. It was both useful and interesting. We may have found a bug in the shared reading activity, too. We found out that build 656 has power management working better - Byron's (I think) machine lasted twice as long as mine. I'm looking forward to update.1 coming next week or maybe Real Soon Now. And we did indeed close down the Linuxcaffe! Grin

I (Byron) am actually tracking Joyride.  From what I've heard, power management isn't in 656.

Power management is fun to watch on this machine.
