Prompted by the desire to visit the olpc.osuosl.org #olpc-help IRC chat channel, I installed the text based Ninja IRC client on the XO. So far it works great. Install is very simple. I didn't find any results searching the forums for 'IRC', so I decided to share.

From Terminal:
su
yum install ninja.i386
y

Type ninja to launch.

hey thanks for the tutorial dude...so far it looks pretty cool

im having some probs though and i'm wondering if u or someone else could help me out.

i appear to have installed it okay (everything seems fine and hunky doory so far) but wheni type /server it says "the server list is empty" any suggestions on what to do?
