Bah. I don't understand why they don't just let us know how things are going if they are requesting our patience.

Maybe they don't know themselves?  We just came out of the holiday season, which means that they were probably understaffed (or more understaffed than usual, as the case may be).  That means prioritizing.  That means dealing with a backlog.

They made some comment about some of the G1G1 machines going to the recipient nations.  I wish that they would give more details on that, to at least make our impatience a warm and fuzzy impatience. Cheesy

Jordan, you don't need OLPC to make you feel warm and fuzzy. You can do that all by yourself, right now. You did a good thing when you participated in G1G1. Be happy you made a good decision, whether your laptop is lost or your "other" laptop is lost on the way to a child in Rwanda.

I phoned OLPC today, and "corrected" my shipping address to "General Delivery" at a post office in the States. It took a while, about 15 minutes on the line, plus 10 on hold, but even though they weren't willing to hack the form to satisfy their shipping computer, we managed to get a shipping address entered for me anyway (without supervisor override). I may end up with the 2 XOs, in my home in Regina, before February if all goes well from this point. I hope things move quickly for Canadian shipping destinations.
